One of our many endeavors is electrical engineering. 

He has designed and built a solar and electric system that powers his house using solar panels and batteries in the event of the loss grid power.

Chris has worked through two different designs on this Solar-Electric project.

Beginning with two 12KW Vestwoods all in one power walls in paralall with 40KW of battery backup.

The system did not work as expected so he completely revamped the system to its current state with 2-15 K Sol-Ark inverters, two 6 space server racks consisting of 12 EG-4 LL V2 batteries with 60KW of power, The solar array consist of 66, 440 watt SolarEver panels.

The updated system was commissioned on February 12, 2023. This has saved Chris a tremendous amount of money on his power bill and also switches seamlessly to backup battery power in the event of an grid outage.

This solar inverter has the versatility to be used both off-grid and on-grid, making it suitable for a variety of applications including parallel stacking, grid selling, meter zeroing, time-of-use management, smart loading, AC coupling, and peak shaving. It has a 200A passthrough, eliminating the need for a subpanel, and is an ideal choice for whole-home backup.

Sol-Ark inverters have the advantage of not being limited to expensive batteries, unlike other solar inverters. They can work with a diverse range of 48V battery chemistries, ranging from lead to lithium.

 Lithium Iron Phosphate battery 51.2V (48V) 5.12kWh with 100A internal BMS, based on the same subset features of the previous industry-renowned EG4-LL Battery. Fully Compatible with the previous EG4-LL Model(See below).

Composed of (16) UL listed prismatic 3.2V cells which have been tested at 7,000 deep discharge cycles to 80% DoD – fully charge and discharge this battery daily for over 15 years without issue. Reliable and rigorously tested, with a 99% operating efficiency.
