True Image Production’s owner, Chris McClintock continues to produce game highlights for NFL Films

NFL Films

“If NFL Films has a secret sauce, this may be the key ingredient: the best staff of cinematographers in the world”

“Six decades of filming football has taught us how to work anywhere, in any conditions, without a net, without a script. Our camera ops know their craft. After all, our image was built on their images” Quoted by: NFL Films

Passion for the game of Football

Chris McClintock played football as a youth, after high school he continued to have a burning passion inside him for the game he loved so much.

Although his playing days were through, he wanted to still find a way to be a part of the game and be there on Friday Nights.

Chris approached Head coach Ron Poe of the McKinney Lions and asked if he could shoot the games for free,

Coach Poe was impressed with his enthusiasm and gave Chris a chance to shoot for the team.

Chris picked up his camera and began to shoot High School Football for the McKinney Lions, a team he played on back in the day.

Chris had grown up watching NFL Films, as have most Football Fans,

He began to try to emulate that style of cinematography, shooting close-up shots of the players and those tight spirals where the football seemed to fill the screen.

After 30+ years of filming, he was given a tryout for NFL Films.

They must have liked what Chris had shot, as the hired him to join the NFL Films Team.

Cinematography

Cinematography is the art of visual storytelling, and good cinematography tells the story effectively. That encompasses many aspects of the actual art form, including camera placement, lighting, the grammar of film and knowing it well, and understanding the script and the story.

Anastas Michos

I think the point of cinematography, of what we do, is intimacy. Is intent, is the balance between the familiar and the dream, it is being subjective and objective, it is being engaged and yet standing back and noticing something that perhaps other people didn’t notice before, or celebrating something that you feel is beautiful or valid, or true or engaging in some way.
